Scientists Use Real Life Machine Learning God To Create Materials

Discovering new materials have been a slow process because there are millions of possible combinations of molecules and atoms. But scientists at the University of Liverpool have created a machine learning algorithm to discover new materials.

According to the report,  the machine learning algorithm has created two entirely new materials.

Liverpool Materials Chemist, Professor Matt Rosseinsky, said:

Understanding which atoms will combine to form new materials from the vast space of possible candidates is one of the grand scientific challenges, and solving it will open up exciting scientific opportunities that could lead to important properties.

The new research helps scientists to use all previously known materials to train the machine learning algorithm. The algorithm uses that chemical understanding to suggest materials for creating new stable and synthesis elements.

Researchers hope that having the possibility to create new materials very quickly scientists can use these new materials for energy generation and storage.
